WE ARE THE WORLD POULTRY FOUNDATION
Our mission is to be a catalyst for improving lives globally through the sustainable production of poultry by empowering farmers in developing regions.
FOUNDED
A Mission is Realized
The USAPEEC International Poultry Development Program (UIPDP) was created in 1997 from an opportunity to assist the fledgling Russian poultry industry. Funds from the U.S. government and poultry industry were leveraged to enter into a joint venture partnership with a Russian broiler production facility. Elinar Broiler was created out of this partnership.
EVOLVED
With Growth Comes Evolution
The UIPDP was actively sponsoring and participating in educational “train-the-trainer” programs in Africa and Southeast Asia. They were heavily involved in disaster relief efforts in Haiti and Indonesia after devastating earthquakes.
After the sale of UIPDP’s shares back to Elinar in 2006, it was agreed that proceeds would be used for charitable purposes outside the United States, to assist other poultry industries around the world.
REORGANIZED
Foundation Named and Celebrated
In 2015, after a complete strategic review of the organization, UIPDP was re-named to the World Poultry Foundation and restructured to reelect a broader mission for its work, yet focusing on the economic development of emerging markets through direct involvement with local industries and farmers.
THRIVING
Thriving in Mission and Vision
We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to help solve hunger and poverty issues through the production and consumption of poultry, while enabling farmers.
We work to promote economic development in distressed areas and emerging markets outside of the United States by helping to establish the production, availability, and ultimately consumption of a low cost, highly efficient and nutritious protein that poultry can provide. This will be accomplished by providing technical, educational, and any other assistance needed to foster the development of the local poultry and egg industries.
We seek to cooperate and partner with other like-mined foundations, organizations and governments by assisting them in projects that advance the charitable purposes of the Foundation.
WHAT SETS US APART
The World Poultry Foundation is led by CEO Randall Ennis, who has more than 30 years of experience in poultry production and management, including extensive international experience. The WPF also retains consultants around the world who assist in carrying out its mission and projects.
